Magento/PHP Developer: PHP, MySQL, Bootstrap, LAMP, Magento
Position Description:
Bower Web Solutions is a full-service web and eCommerce development studio. We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join our web development team and to play a key role in developing E-commerce sites using Magento. This opening is a part-time, project-based position which has the potential to lead to a full-time position.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing effective e-commerce websites for our clients, acting as a consultant during meetings and conference calls, and resolving usability issues for clients in a timely fashion. This position will allow you to work remotely, provided you meet deadlines and are available for team communication and client conference calls during normal office hours.
This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic, passion for technology, and dedication to customer satisfaction/improving usability. This position is offsite and part-time initially.
Duties Include:
- Phone / e-mail communications with clients and our in-house staff
- Manage project milestones and budgets
- Content editing and coding as needed
- Test and quality control web sites prior to public launch
- Resolving usability issues with e-commerce sites for clients
- Working with development team on new website builds from start to finish
- Working with development team on web-based applications from start to finish
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year strong PHP coding experience
- Expertise in database concepts (MySQL)
- Competent with MVC, LAMP stack, & PHP object-oriented programming
- Strong knowledge of Magento configuration options
- Strong knowledge of Magento-specific data organization (Categories, Product attribute sets/attributes, Product import)
- Strong knowledge of Magento theme components (layout, block, template)
- Strong knowledge of (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript libraries
- A desire to be personally responsible for production-level code
- Knowledge of optimization, caching, and scaling techniques
- Multi-website, store view deployment
- Experience with Bootstrap
- Strong knowledge of cross-browser testing, and other QA experience
- Strong verbal and written fluency in English
- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to manage several projects while meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
Strong Pluses:
- JQuery
- Expertise in authoring and extending Magento extensions (No core code modifications)
- Knowledge of Git, workflows and version control
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year strong PHP coding experience
